Jordan/ Greater Karak Municipality: 25% of Required Payment for Municipal Work Allowance

On Tuesday, dozens of workers in the largest municipality of Karak organized a protest in front of the municipality building to demand the payment of the 25% dues of the municipal work allowance.

The Jordanian Labor Observatory pointed out in its official website that the workers confirmed that they would not back off of their right to a municipal work allowance of 25% and are demanding the addition of an hour to their daily work hours so that their daily work would end at three o'clock instead of two o'clock, rejecting the 15% bonus approved by the Council which does not include the addition of one hour per day.

The concerned Municipal Council held an emergency meeting to consider the demands of the employees, and the council agreed during the meeting to pay a municipal allowance of 25% with the addition of an additional working hour as well as the 15% allowance without the additional work hour.
