Sudan: Raising the Minimum Wage to 3.000 Pounds

The Council of Ministers approved the proposal to increase the minimum wage for state employees to 3.000 pounds ($ 54), provided that implementation takes place in two consecutive phases of 8 months from April next.

The Council adopted the report of the National Task Force to address the structure of wages and salaries of workers in the country for the year 2020, with setting the necessary controls in order to achieve the desired effect, and stressing the review of the minimum wages annually through studies that show measuring the impact of the annual increase on improving people’s pensions and reducing inflation rates.
