The National Syndicate of the Social Development Agency called for a national strike accompanied by a national protest as well as a central sit-in in March 2020.
The National Syndicate delegated to the National Office to set their dates and also called on the regional offices to create forms of joint solidarity struggle in response to the administration's restrictions.
In its press release, the union denounced the unprecedented attack on trade union freedoms through inquiries, deductions and pressure to change trade union affiliation, and denounced the continued slowdown in applying the requirements of the articles of association and the lack of response to the set of observations and complaints addressed by employees towards the administration regarding the situations sent to them.
The General Syndicate expressed its disapproval of the policy of collective punishment and intimidation that the administration is trying to impose after the signing of the statute.
The agency’s director has also made some strange statements that considered competence as a less worthy requirement to the institution.
The syndicate condemned the restriction of trade union freedoms on activists of the Moroccan Labor Union, which illustrated in behaviours such as pressure to change union affiliation and the arbitrary exemptions of project heads for union reasons.
Hence, they called on the management of the agency to correct their position.
They also denounced the agency’s director’s targeting of the trade union’s office by excluding them from promotion according to a testimony of a member of the national office.
The syndicate also noted the exclusion of a member of the national office from a study visit, which was confirmed by the documents presented to members of the administrative committee.
Militants of “Laayoune” region in “Marrakesh” who were excluded from a grant due to their unionist affiliations.
The union announced its absolute solidarity with these activists, confirming their entitlement to regain their rights, on top of which is this annual grant, expressing its surprise at the lack of serious engagement with the restrictions that were experienced by a group of female activists as well as the lack of interaction towards some complaints that happened to “Laayoun” coordinator coordinator and “Al-Hoceima” affiliate.
The syndicate considered such behaviour an insult to the institution and an evidence of condemnation against the current administration that is covering up such violations.
