The data revealed by the Ministry of Labor and Professional Integration indicated that the expansion of social protection workshops will enable the provision of health coverage for the categories of self-employed and independent non-wage workers, their families and their rights, and will reach 10 million beneficiaries.
The meetings held by the ministry, up to now, resulted in identifying some of the available categories on the conditions necessary for enrolling in the health and social coverage system for independent professionals, namely the categories of medical tamers, midwives and justice professionals, after publishing the relevant texts in the Official Gazette on October 21, 2019.
It is mentioned that the professionals, independent workers and non-wage persons who engage in a special activity concerned with health and social coverage are the self-employed persons who practice a free profession and the independent workers, and they include the self-employed persons who engage in commercial activity, those who practice peasant activity, the owners of agricultural and forestry exploits and their facilities, and workers in the road transport sector other than the one holding the professional driver's card in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 52.03 as a code of road traffic and the texts taken for its application, in addition to the directors other than the procedure for a company Subject to Law No. 5.96 concerning the Company and Solidarity Company Limited Partnership Company Limited by Shares and Limited Liability Company and the company quota system.
In addition to this category, the decrees include, persons practicing a private activity, who are self-employed according to the meaning of Law 114.13 related to the self-contractor, and other people who engage in self-employment an
income-generating activity, whatever the type of this activity or income, whether they have a place to practice their activity or not.
