Morocco: National Education Syndicates CDT and FNE Correspond with International Bodies and Announce a National Protest Day on March 24th

The National Syndicate of Education, affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labor and the National Education Syndicate / Democratic Orientation, announced the organization of its local, regional and regional union branches, on a joint national protest day, through stops, sit-ins, gatherings, marches and carrying the emblem, on Tuesday, 24 March.

work of bilateral union coordination, on the morning of Thursday, 5 March 2020 at the Rabat Bar Association Club, to announce the first steps of their struggle program that was underlined under the slogan: “An ongoing unitary struggle for: defending education the free and democratic public good for all the daughters and sons of the Moroccan people, and to safeguard the dignity, rights and gains of the educational worker, and to achieve ust and legitimate demands”.

According to the press release, the bilateral union coordination decided to report to the International Labor Organization (BIT), the International Education IE, the International Federation of Educational Unions of the International Federation of Trade Unions (FSM), and UNESCO, to protest the absence of sectoral social dialogue in Morocco, and the persistence in striking public education through contracting as well as targeting freebies, and encouraging private education at the expense of public education.

In the same press conference, the bilateral union coordination held the responsibility for the growing tension in the national education sector to the state and the guardian ministry over the sector and demanded a serious and responsible dialogue on all the demands raised without fragmentation or selection.
