The organizing committee of the October uprising announced the organization of a massive women march in Baghdad today, Thursday, February 13, where it is expected to be the first and largest of its kind in the history of Iraq.
The committee said in a statement that “a feminist demonstration will be take place to emphasize the active women role, which was noticed in all national situations, and had an evident mark which everyn Iraqi should be proud of.”
The committee also pointed out that this march is a tribute to Iraq and its martyrs, especially the martyrs: Sarah Taleb, Hoda Khudair, Zahra Al-Qara Lucy, and Jinan Al-Shahmani, who were assassinated by armed individuals, for their activity in the anti-regime protests which Iraq have witnessed since last October.
