The General Federation of Jordan Trade Unions has published a report of its most important achievements and activities for 2018 and 2019.
The Federation explained that in 2018, 58 collective work contracts (collective agreements) were signed through direct negotiations and conciliation procedures stipulated in the labor law.
65,000 workers from various sectors benefited from these agreements, with the total cost of these agreements reaching $ 30 million.
In the same year, 16 strikes were carried out by trade unions, participation in 24 workshops and training seminars inside and outside the country as well as 450 workers benefiting from these programs.
In 2019, a collective work agreement was signed until the end of last August, and 81,200 workers benefited from it. The total cost of these agreements amounted to $ 25 million, in addition to 6 strikes that were carried out during the said period.
