Tunisia February 13: Strike in Livestock and Cattle Provision Bureau

Workers and staff of the Livestock and Cattle Provision Office (OEP for its French acronym) will be going on a full strike on Thursday, February 13.

Al – Shaab newspaper have stated that the workers and staff of OEP are calling for the speedy issuance of the basic statute of the office, the amendment of the organizational structure as well as enabling the start of the Office’s financial cleansing program.

The demands also include respecting the labor standards applicable to union work and enabling them of the new specialized grant, which was created under Order No. 526 on June 24, 2015.

Workers also stressed the necessity of withdrawing the increases agreed recently upon for the office’s engineers and expedite in enabling workers of their work clothes for the years 2018 and 2019 as well as the approval of purchase receipts to accomplish this.

In addition to that, they are asking to rearrange the ranking of those who are currently ranked in class 1 and 2 and who are in charge of guarding, cleaning and filling vacancies.

The staff and workers of OEP are also demanding enabling them with milk portions, a night shift’s grant, the tenure of the workers of seeds’ multiplication and “Shanshu Project” workers as well as the reclassification of 4 workers, as was done with regard to 74 other workers.
