The National Bureau of the National Democratic Union for Finance, which is a member of the Moroccan Labor Union, expressed concern about the deterioration and mismanagement of the professional and administrative conditions in the financial sector in the regions of Tangier, Tetouan and Al-Hoceima.
According to a press release, the regional tax director has been disregarding the participatory methodology and dialogue with the National Democratic Union for Finance in the Tangier branch.
The regional treasury is also witnessing multiple problems, namely the absence of a fair distribution of tasks and clashes at the regional level. The press release also called out the irresponsible behavior of the regional trustee who rejected a local sectoral dialogue to find solutions to the issues and files that have been raised.
The National Office was surprised by the absence of adequate infrastructure in the state property directorate, as well as the lack of adequate human resources to manage the directorate at the regional level , amid an attack on freedoms and violations of the relevant labor code and international covenants, with the silence and collusion of local authorities.
The bureau announced its absolute solidarity with the struggles of the working class to ensure the respect of their rights and demands in the region of Tangier, Tetouan, Al Hoceima, led by the regional union of the Moroccan Labor Union.
It also denounced the arbitrary expulsion that targeted the general secretary of the workers of "Amanour" company, reiterating its support for the struggle plans they have against the neglect of the regional tax director to fulfil their demands. It also expressed its surprise at the way in which many files and tax disputes are managed, blaming the regional tax director for the decline in the social ladder.
The bureau also decided to write the Central Tax Administration regarding the conditions defined by the regional directorate, which had become managed by proxy by one of the employees of the regional tax directorate. Thus, noting the seriousness of abuse, threat, and abuse of the powers exercised by the holding of the tax administration in Tangier.
The union office called for all forms of protest and militant solidarity with the Tangier branch and called on for regional protests on Tuesday 11 February 2020.
