As reported by Al-Shaab newspaper, workers at the Bouchamaoui Industries Company decided to go into a strike period of 5 days starting February 5, in protest of the corporation’s administration disregard of their duty to apply the previously established commitments as stated in session records between the company and the trade union parties. Bouchamaoui industries also refused to offer a serious response to the legitimate rights of its workers.
Unless an agreement is made between both the trade union and administrative parties, the strike will be carried out at the company’s headquarters in the governates of Tunis, Gabes, Tataouine, Zaghouan, Ben Arous, Beja and Medenine.
According to the same source, workers are demanding respect for the trade union right, the abolition of the arbitrary work warrants, and enabling their access to their deductible dues.
They also stressed the necessity to apply the content of previous session records and to preserve the rights acquired in terms of the wage scale.
