Yemen: A quarter of a million retirees benefit from postal services in Lahij

A quarter of a million retirees benefit from postal services in the governorate of Lahij with a total sum of 8 billion riyals per year.

In this context, the director general of the post office of the governorate of Lahij, Abdelhafedh Mahdi Hassen, explained, in a statement given to the online newspaper 'Al Ayam', that the office is ready to offer its services to pay pensions for retirees from the government sector and international organizations, especially since the office has regained all of its activities and has reopened all of its subsidiaries.

Abdelhafedh Mahdi Hassen called on all government parties to pay wages to the post office, noting that there is a ministerial decree which stipulates that public service wages and pensions must be mailed.

The director general of the Lahij Governorate post office said that the office currently provides pensions for civil and military retirees while some branches are still closed due to the war. However, these subsidiaries could be reopened.
