Officials from the Department of Marine Fisheries observed a third national strike on January 21 and 22, 2020.
In this context, the Union of officials of the Ministry of Maritime Fisheries, under the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), explained that this strike was decided following the irresponsibility of the secretariat-general of the ministry who continues to ignore the requests of the union which has already organized a first strike on January 1 and 2 and a second on the 8 of the same month.
Union sources explained that the secretary-general of the ministry and its administrative body threatened to suppress the right to strike by carrying out wage levies.
The Union of officials of the Ministry of Maritime Fisheries called for the creation of a Foundation for social work, bonuses and compensation, legal protection of officials in the sector and a real fight against corruption.
