The secretary-general of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), Noureddine Tabboubi, has announced that the third tranche of the salary increase for public officials will be paid in August 2020.
On the sidelines of his participation in the commemoration of the creation of the trade union organization in Sousse, on January 20, 1946, the secretary-general of the UGTT warned the next government that it would not prejudice social gains and to the public sector.
Noureddine Tabboubi said the government will only be supported if it intends to combat poverty, ignorance, smuggling and terrorism. He added that the "painful" reforms must target those involved in tax evasion and not citizens.
