Tunisia: The Secondary Education Union calls for serious negotiations about substitute teachers

The General Union for Secondary Education, under the umbrella of the Tunisian General Labor Union, called on the Ministry of Education to expedite the opening of a serious and responsible negotiation about substitute teachers and find ways to dissolve it on the basis of the permanent assignment in every workplace.

The union indicated that the Ministry of Education has been searching for various excuses that prevent this file being resolved on the basis of permanent assignment for each permanent location of work, through its retreat from commitment to what has been decided upon, especially a 10 percent point, and the opening of a serious, sweet negotiation as a whole.

The union stated that the Ministry replaced all of that by the order number 1046, "in compliance with the dictates of the global financial circles related to pressure on the wage block and the suspension of assignments in the public sector."

work of teaching on the one hand, and the spread of employment fragility on the other hand, which negatively affected the quality of the entire educational process, and depriving professors of their right to education and students from their right to study, What contributed to the continuation of the ministry in the search for the prosthetic solutions, the latest of which is the re-employment debate that will deepen this disastrous situation, according to the text of the statement.
