The Secretary General of the General Union of Workers in Morocco, Na`am Mayara, affirmed that the new development model that is currently being worked out should ensure respect for trade union freedoms and social protection for the Moroccan working class.
In statements to the press after a meeting devoted by the Special Committee for the Development Model chaired by Chakib Benmoussa, Mayara told the press to listen to representatives of the General Union of Workers in Morocco that it is not possible to develop a development model without providing a decent job for the Moroccan working class and preserving its dignity.
In this regard, he stressed the need to involve the trade union movement in economic and social development, and to make it a partner in the factory, administration and all locations with a trade union presence, stressing the need to strengthen social media in the new development model through real involvement with it and making it an active part of development and not a dependent part.

Mayyara concluded by saying that the General Union of Workers in Morocco appreciates the work of the committee and the consultations it launched to crystallize a true development model, stressing, in this context, that achieving economic and social development in the Kingdom depends on consultation with all parties and living forces in Moroccan society.
On Thursday, the Special Committee for the Development Model began the hearings of parties and unions.
