Saudi Arabia: Jeddah Tribunal settles in favor of Egyptian workers

The Jeddah Labor Court confirmed the obligation of the contract for both parties concerned and emphasized that the statement is a sufficient argument for the judgment since section 90 of the Saudi Labor Code provides that 'employees must receive their remuneration complete every month '. Article 64 commits the employer, once the contract is completed, to grant a certificate of work at work, mentioning the start and end dates of the assignment and the value of the remuneration. This certification must not contain any elements that damage the reputation of the employee.

This verdict was pronounced in the context of the case filed by 'AGS' against his former company which refused to issue him a certificate of work claiming his resignation. The verdict forced the employer to comply with the provisions of the Labor Code for foreign workers in Saudi Arabia.
