Palestine: Occupation again seizes Palestinian workers' money

The Secretary-General of the Palestine General Federation of Trade Unions, Shaher Saad, has estimated that the decision of the occupation government concerning the transfer of 218 million shekels (funds from the health insurance fund for workers Palestinians) to 'Israeli' employers is theft of Palestinian workers' money.

In a media statement given to 'Wafa' news agency, Shaher Saad recalled that this is not the first time the Zionist government and 'Israeli' employers are trying to seize the money. Palestinian workers by transferring funds from the health insurance fund.

The general secretary of the General Federation of Trade Unions explained that the government claims to have transferred the funds to invest them in vocational training for the workers, except that, in reality, this money will be spent on improving and strengthening military crossings and roadblocks.

Shaher Saad said the Federation has submitted a proposal to the International Labor Organization (ILO) for about a year saying that the money should be invested in health projects in collaboration with the ministries of health and finance with the aim of building four health centers in the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank.

For its part, the daily 'Haaretz' had revealed that the occupation government ordered the transfer of the sum of 218 million shekels from the funds of the health insurance fund of Palestinian workers who work under work permits .
