Lebanese economic authorities have said the World Bank has warned of economic decline in Lebanon because of the lack of a new government. In a statement, the authorities explained that they were obliged to take intensive measures if the formation of a new government was still to be postponed and, in the same context, issued an alert regarding the fate of thousands of Lebanese workers.
In the same communiqué, the authorities said that meetings will be organized in continuity until the formation of a new government.
The economic authorities in Lebanon represent private companies and businessmen. These bodies issued the communiqué after a meeting of its representatives with Mohamed Chakir, the current affairs minister.
Lebanese protesters call, since the beginning of the movement, to the eviction of all the political class.
