Iraq / Najaf: The Union of Professional Unions rejects government solutions

The syndicate of trade unions and trade unions in Najaf confirmed the continuation of the sit-ins, reiterating its rejection of the solutions presented by the government and considered them as a patchwork and an attempt to circumvent public demands by partial solutions.

In a communique, the unions called for a comprehensive reform of the political system by amending the constitution, enacting a new election law that meets the aspirations of the Iraqi people, forming an independent commission, and holding early elections under UN supervision.

It also demanded the resignation of the current government completely and the formation of an interim government of "technocrats" until the elections, and confine arms to the state and the detection of the real perpetrators who caused the bloodshed of the demonstrators and security agencies and accountability for theft of public money from 2003 until now.
