Nermine El Sherif: Teachers 'sit-in is the beginning of Libya's workers' revolution against government corruption

The head of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Libya, Nermine Al-Sharif, confirmed the continued sit-in of teachers until the implementation of the demands, accusing the ministries of education and the government of al-Wifaq and turning a blind eye to the demands of teachers.

In a statement to "LIVE" program on the local channel "NEWS 218", Al-Sharif said on Tuesday that the Federation of Trade Unions of Libya delivered the demands of teachers to the International Federation of Trade Unions, which in turn wrote to the Presidential Council and the Interim Government declaring its support for the demands of teachers and its appeal to respect the right of teachers to demonstrate and sit in.

The head of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Libya added that the support of the International Trade Union Confederation will affect in the future any action at the international level of the governments of Libya, and can thwart international deals or relations if the governments of Al Wefaq and Temporary do not respect the demands of teachers.

She pointed out that the Union of Trade Unions of Libya fully supports the teachers' sit-in, noting that this sit-in is the beginning of the revolution of the workers of Libya on the corruption of governments and neglect of the rights of Libya.
