Media reports revealed yesterday that thirty people died in protests that erupted in the evening in the city of Karbala.
900 people were injured in confrontations between police and demonstrators in the city. For their part, netizens reported that the police stormed the protesters with the cars and opened fire on them.
The protesters set tires on fire and gathered in front of the governorate headquarters, where the police dispersed them with tear gas.
One hundred and fifty-seven protesters died in Iraq's first wave of protests as 74 citizens died in the second wave that erupted last Thursday.
For their part, the Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament recently presented proposals that did not convince the protesters.
