Algeria: 'BATIMETAL' workers fired for union membership

Dozens of workers from the company 'BATIMETAL', a subsidiary of Oued Smar, organized a protest rally of solidarity with their colleagues dismissed for their union membership.

Company sources reported that all members of the trade union branch of the Trade Union Confederation of Productive Forces were dismissed, with the approval of the Ministry of Labor, before being summoned by a criminal judge. Recall that the company lost all its lawsuits filed to dissolve the union office.

Moreover, the same sources revealed that the workers intend to go to Algiers to organize a sit-in in front of the headquarters of the company.

Sources from the Trade Union Confederation of the Productive Forces said that the organization will soon reveal major corruption cases involving the administration of 'BATIMETAL'.
