Libya: National Oil Corporation cannot pay its eastern employees

The National Oil Corporation announced early this week that it is unable to pay the September salaries of employees in the eastern unit where the authorities have established a parallel administrative council.

Libyan electronic newspapers have assured that the National Oil Corporation will be dissolved after the eastern authorities, allied with the officer Khalifa Haftar, have created a council of the El Brega Oil Company.

The National Oil Corporation said it was no longer able to pay the salaries of El Brega Oil Company employees in the eastern and central regions after the parallel administrative council blocked wages from Tripoli. And to add that this illegitimate body has created a great chaos after having failed in his low hand on the official bank accounts of the company.

So far, the El Brega Ministerial Council has not yet responded to this case when an employee, who preferred to remain anonymous, said that the salaries of September have been paid.
