The National Union of Court Stenographers, under the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), has declared that negotiations with the Ministry of Justice have officially failed. In a statement, the union denounced the practices of the ministry, which did not show any seriousness during the dialogue and preferred to ignore requests from stenographers working under alarming conditions.
The union explained that the Minister of Justice did not react to the detailed memorandum filed by the executive board with the order desk on September 19, 2019; a note that returned in detail to the dialogue between the two parties for two years. In this context, the Union announced the organization of a series of strikes from October 15 to 16, 2019, in accordance with the instructions of the last national council.
The National Union of Court Stenographers recalled that it had suspended its strike last March following promises made by the ministry which had undertaken to implement Ministerial Decree No. 2994-16 on the salary of stenographers within two months. The Minister of Justice confirmed this commitment during his presence in Parliament but to no avail.
