The president of the Tunisian Federation of Hotels (FTH), Khaled Fakhfakh, said the hotels do not plan to fire their staff following the bankruptcy of the British company 'Thomas Cook' and said industry professionals intend to seize justice in this case.
Moreover, Fakhfakh explained that the Federation is applied in the defense of the interests of the sector and its professionals recalling that the hotel industry provide about 800 direct and indirect work opportunities.
In a statement to 'Al Arabi Al Jadeed', the president of the FTH added that the hotels will not proceed to any dismissal and that they do not intend to ask any financial assistance to the State seen the economic crisis that knows Tunisia.
Tourism is a vital sector of Tunisia’s economy and a key source of foreign exchange earnings. It accounts for around 8% of economic output and employs 400,000 people.
