Lebanon: 'Alpha' and 'Touch' officials protest

Last Friday, the officials of the telecommunications companies 'Alpha' and 'Touch' organized a sit-in before the Ministry of Telecommunications; a protest which is part of the movements led by the interested parties to defend the rights and acquired rights mentioned in the collective agreement.

In media statements, union members explained that the sit-in was decided after the ministry refused to pay officials and present guarantees to protect the gains and rights of the collective agreement.

In this context, union sources said the minister is considering deducting the day of the strike from the salaries of civil servants which could lead to a new strike on Monday.
