The Workers' Union of Abyan governorate protested against a so-called illegal measure taken by the city’s office of civil service and labor. The measure in question deducted 1500 riyals ($ 6) from the August salaries of public officials of Zinjibar and Khanfar.
Union Secretary-General Salah Makkich said the decision is legally unfounded, unfair and the union has not been made aware of it.
Salah Makkich called for this salary deduction to be rescinded and threatened a general strike if it was not rescinded.
