On Thursday, officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance observed a national labor strike following a call from the National Democratic Union of Finance under the Moroccan Workers Union (UMT).
These protests come after the approval of the basic statute for the instance of the officials of the customs and taxes; the officials denounce here the discrimination between the professionals of the sector and the exclusion of the rest of the directions from the ministry.
Officials also criticized the ministry's policy and pledged to defend their right to a unified basic status that guarantees their rights and dignity through the establishment of a fair system in terms of promotions, compensation, bonuses.
The protesters also denounced the exclusion of the trade union party with regard to the social dialogue and the withdrawal of the ministry with regard to the reform of the bonus system and respect for trade union freedoms. The protesters called for establishing a special regime for officials of the Ministry of Economy and Finance that is unified for all central directorates and external departments and the development of a new generation of social services with the aim of increasing the financial subsidy of the Social Work Foundation as it has been the case for the Customs Association.
