The workers of 'T T Stone', a company specializing in reconstituted stones and natural stones, located in the governorate of Kebili (Southern Tunisia) , continue their protests for the third week in a row. The workers call for the improvement of working conditions, social security and a regular payment, especially since society exploits the wealth of the region to export them to Italy.
In media statements, the workers' representatives explained that the reason behind the renewal of the protests is the fact that the employer dismissed one of their colleagues after a certified absence. They claimed that the employer has not paid social security contributions since the beginning of the current year and recalled the company, established in the region since 2000, employs only 21 workers while they were 60.
