The National Finance Union, under the umbrella of Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT), has called on the Ministry of Economy and Finance to withdraw the draft of the basic statute for the administration of customs and indirect taxes. The Union sent a letter to the Minister explaining that the various stages of the preparation of this project were surrounded by a great opacity.
In its letter, the National Union renewed its rejection of this project, explaining that the ministry played the law by violating Article 4 of Law No. 1.58.008 on the basic status of the civil service. It added that the department is seeking to isolate officials from the customs administration and taxes, which has lost the credibility of the minister.
The National Finance Union assured that the ministry prepared the project in total silence so that it could maneuver at its ease and destroy the achievements and rights of the officials concerned.
