A number of MGS employees confirmed that the administration denied and manipulated their full rights for seven years, during which the administration abstained from opening bank accounts for them for fear of paying taxes, and also abstained from providing social security, health insurance and other rights for which the employer is responsible.
According to Al-Sarraj News website, the workers sent a message to the Head of the State confirming that they were subjected to "injustice and abhorrent exploitation in their country, where they contracted several years ago with a company called MGS run by Musa Weld Sufi, who represented a Chinese company called HK HUBEI which was contracting with Shentel Communications Company to undertake the maintenance of its systems on the national territory.
The workers explained that the employer was "manipulating our rights all through this period which extended more than seven years, during which he refrained from opening bank accounts for us for fear of paying taxes, and refrained from providing social security for workers or health insurance and other obligations of the employer in accordance with the Mauritanian Employment Code." According to the text of their message.
Workers also pointed out that they did not obtain an annual holiday for the duration of the employer's work, noting that after his contract with the Chinese company ended three months ago, they were denied their employment contractual rights, some of which exceeding seven years, and called on the Head of the State to intervene to redress the situation and lift this injustice they are subject to.
