Sudanese media, citing their own sources, talked about the formation of the new government of Sudan, headed by Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk, said 14 ministers were selected, one third thereof are women, including a woman in the Foreign Affairs in the first Sudanese government to be formed after Omar Al-Bashir was ousted in April.
The government includes the first female foreign minister, Asmaa Abdullah. According to the sources, Wala'a Essam Al-Boushi will be appointed Minister of Youth and Sports, and Intissar Saghiroun in the Ministry of Higher Education, Lina Sheikh Mahjoub in the in Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and Khadija Mohamed Khair in the Ministry of Livestock .
The government will operate for a three-year transitional period followed by elections under a power-sharing agreement between the army and the civilian opposition.
