Several companies and companies in the Asharqiyah Industrial Zone have significant shortcomings in compliance with professional safety standards. Local media reported that the Occupational Safety Administration in the region's health directorate has begun a campaign to verify compliance with standards by factories and companies.
This campaign led to the recording of several violations including, the unavailability of personal protection equipment, the non-protection of the electricity generator against fire risks as well as the non-verification of medical certificates and training diplomas. The concerned committee has put in place the necessary procedures to deal with these deficiencies.
