A 13-year-old Moroccan child, Adel, died of hunger and thirst in the Sahara region of M'Hamid El Ghizlane after he got lost on his way to work. Local media have reported on the circumstances of the child’s death. The same sources reported that the victim was working with others in a mobile tent before he decided to return to a neighborhood in the city of Zagora.
The Moroccan newspaper 'Al Omak Maghreb' indicated, citing its own sources, that the people who accompanied the young child and who worked for the owner of a tourism project, had also returned home after the employer left them without food or drinking water.
The same newspaper claimed that the other people were found by camel herders who saved them from death, while those searching for the young child only stopped when they discovered he was dead.
