Detained leaders of Rif “Hirak” Movement demand to be stripped of their nationality

Those detained in connection with the Rif “Hirak” movement (Nasser Zafzafi, Nabil Ahmek, Wassim Boustati, Zakaria Adhashour, Mohamed Haki and Samir Agheid) demanded the revocation of their Moroccan nationality and the withdrawal of their allegiance to King Mohammed VI.

This announcement was made by Ahmed Zafzafi, father of Nasser Zafzafi, sentenced to 20 years in prison. Ahmed Zafzafi read the statement signed by the five detainees in a video broadcast live on his Facebook page.

The statement included the claim that 'Morocco is unconscious and the city of Al Hoceima is economically and culturally besieged'. Nasser Zafzafi's father defended the detainees and called on the authorities to verify the accusations that they are assuring them that this is the last card played by the Hirak leadership, after exhausting all other options. He added that the detainees are true patriots and deserve to be released.
