Morocco: Families of Hirak Rif detainees unveil torture of their children

The 'Thavra' association for the support of families of Hirak Rif detainees has revealed that harassment and provocation against detainees continues and that some of them have even been victims of physical and moral violence.

In a statement, the association said that detainee Salah Ahmadi was tortured by prison officials who are aware of his state of health. It added that the director of the prison did not react to this incident despite having read it.

In the same statement, the association also cited the case of Achraf Moudid, held in a prison in Fes and sentenced to 20 years in prison, who has been on a hunger strike since August 13, saying that property other inmates threatened to do the same if their requests were not implemented.

The 'Thavra' association for the support of families of Hirak Rif detainees called on the general delegation of the prison administration to intervene quickly and to open an investigation to determine all those involved in the torture case against Salah Ahmadi.
