Delaying of salaries in Algerian companies owned by businessmen accused of corruption

The crisis is now at threshold of the businessmen-owned corporations that are in charge of corruption in Algeria. Such companies and workers are suffering more and more, as they are facing unknown future as the businessmen are in jail now.

Tens of workers in "COGRAL SPA" group owned by "Kouninef brothers" demonstrated in front of the factory head office, nearby Algeria seaport, Algiers, because they did not receive their salaries as a result of company's assets freezing, following Kouninef brothers arresting and charging of corruption cases months ago.

Workers have carried banners calling for receiving their financial dues that they did not get 3 months ago. Workers of "ETRHB Haddad" Compound owned by Haddad family also organized a demonstration in front of the group head office, in Casablanca city, as a result of not receiving their salaries months ago, at the same time of confiscating and arresting the businessman Ali Haddad, the big boss in the group, who was early arrested after attempting to run away to Tunisia through land borders and the Um At-tobool border post. Haddad's group also includes 2 newspapers, and 2 TV channels, one of them has been closed. Workers did not receive their salaries months ago after confiscating the businessman Ali Haddad's assets and companies.

It is worth mentioning that Haddad was refusing to pay journalists and workers' salaries in his media firms even before Boutaflika's oust, he got arrested and his assets got frozen.
