156 irregular migrants rescued off Spanish coast

The Spanish authorities rescued 156 irregular migrants, including 11 women, and transferred them overnight to the south-eastern port of Almeria.

According to the Spanish news agency EFE, quoting the rescue team spokesman, 'Guardamar Caliope' boat rescued 62 men on a boat, 41 men and 6 women on another boat, as well as 42 men and 5 women on a third boat.

The press agency mentioned that warnings were received on Monday following the departure of irregular migration vessels from the northern coast of Morocco.
