It is expected that the Contractors Union in the Gaza Strip provinces will embark on a two-day strike, starting from Wednesday, in protest of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)’s non-response to the contractors’ demands.
The General Authority of the Contractors' Union asks for the recovery of the tax returns’ rights and the confrontation of the monopolization of the Gaza Reconstruction Mechanism (GRM), as it considers it as an intruder to the private sector.
The union confirmed that the strike scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday comes in light of the insistence of contractors to obtain their rights regarding the tax return case, caused by UNRWA and the Ministry of Finance in Ramallah.
