The social situation in the Ministry of Public Works and Housing is witnessing tension in many governorates because of the delay in the payment of bonuses for some workers since last winter.
In media statements, the employees urged the ministry to enforce the decision of the bonus’s payment, stressing that the southern governorates are the poorest and suffer from a very bad economic situation.
They addressed the Minister, Falah Abdullah Al-Omoush, asking him to hasten the payment of their dues, saying that winter’s work took place in very harsh conditions.
On the other hand, the spokesman of the ministry, Omar Maharameh denied any contracts between the ministry and daily workers in any governorate last winter and said to the ‘Alanbat’ website that these employees are permanent workers of the ministry and did overtime; he confirmed that the table of bonuses is being studied and reviewed and that they will be paid very soon.
