More than 100 Palestinian workers arrested by Zionist occupation arrests in south of Al-Khalīl

According to "Felesteen Online” website, the Zionist occupation forces arrested more than 100 Palestinian workers, last Sunday morning, claiming that they tried to cross Al-Dhahiri military checkpoint south of Al-Khalīl, without the necessary permits.

The media sources pointed out that the detainees had entered the occupied territories in 1948, in search of work, and that some of them were returned to the Palestinian territories, while some others were referred to “investigation".

Some "Israeli" media also claimed that " the infiltration in search of work is likely to be exploited by the organizations, in support of the resistance to carry out military operations."

It is noteworthy that the occupation forces are preventing the Palestinian workers from the West Bank from entering the occupied territories of 1948, as they are only allowed to enter them through special permits, that are granted to only married couples, and those over 20 years old. They can also enter these territories, according to specific conditions for working, either in the construction sector or the agricultural sector, through the crossings that link the West Bank and the occupied territories.

According to the estimates of the occupation prisons’ administration, there are about 500 Palestinian prisoners imprisoned in the occupation prisons for entering the occupied territories without permission. In fact, most of them are in Damon prison in Carmel (in the North).

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Labour, about 90 000 Palestinian workers work in the occupied territories, including 50 000 with "permits" (granted by the occupation authorities, which is a pass to enter the occupied territories for work) through 15 main and branch crossings in the West Bank and al-Quds.

According to the official Palestinian statistics, most of the workers, especially the youth (those under 30 years old), are obliged to reach their workplaces inside the occupied territories through bypass roads through "smuggling brokers".
