Following 8 years of struggle, Moroccan retirees in France will benefit from their privileges during their stay in Morocco

After 8 years of struggle, Moroccan immigrants in France who have retired can now benefit from retirement and social protection benefits during their stay in their native country, Morocco, without having to stay in France.

The Moroccan channel 2M TV stated that this victory belongs to the former Moroccan workers, who are called the "Chibanis". The change came following the amendment of the French financial law, implemented since the first of July, which allows them to benefit from their rights as retirees during their stay in Morocco.

This law aims to provide the 175,000 Moroccan retirees, who emigrated to France and worked there for several years, with their French retirement benefits while they reside in Morocco.

A large number of those "Chibanis" had to remain in France, despite their age, in order to continue to benefit from their retirement privileges and health coverage. If they chose to return to their homeland, they would have had to abandon these social rights.
