Jafra News website announced that many contractual workers from Jordan Phosphate Mines protested last Sunday against the board decision of dismissing 84 workers, asking for their appointment, instead.
The workers declared that an agreement signed in 2013, in the Ministry of Work, stipulates that workers must be appointed within 3 years. However, six years after, the board didn’t comply with it.
The workers said that don’t feel there is any job security, especially after the decision to dismiss 84 workers under the pretext to save about 280K dinars per year while the society signed with transporting companies a contract of 500K dinars.
