The Maritime Guard Units in Zarzis rescued 4 irregular migrants after receiving an alert from local seafarers.
Two of the rescued were transferred to the regional hospital in Zarzis while the two others went to one of the Tunisian Red Crescent’s shelters, according to a media statement given by the Chair of the subsidiary body of the Tunisian Red Crescent in the district of Medenine. He added that the seafarers left the Zaouara port last Monday with 86 irregular migrants abroad of different nationalities; the boat sank and 82 migrants are still missing.
