Tunisian General Labor Union condemned the terrorist attacks carried out against Tunisia on Thursday and which targeted security agents and broadcasting station in Gafsa leading to the death of the martyr Mehdi Zammeli, a municipal police agent and the injury of many policeman and civils.
The Union stated that these attacks happen at a time of tensions, few weeks before the elections and at the beginning of the touristic season and aim at provoking a chaos in Tunisia and economically harm the country.
The Union called for a constant vigilance and monitoring from both the police and the citizens to prevent any other terrorist attack. It stressed the importance for all Tunisian people to be united and not to let these events impact the upcoming elections or jeopardize the aspirations for freedom and democracy.
