Volunteer lecturers in the Ministry of Education renewed their protests to ask for the settlement of their pending working status on Sunday, during a rally in Sadrine square in Najaf.
Protesters raised banners asking the governor of Najaf and the Minister of Education to recruit them permanently like their colleagues in other ministries. They also demand the list of new recruits to be revealed, to recover their rights and to the ministry to create new posts for those who graduated in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
The lecturers stated that their protest will continue until their legitimate and constitutional demands are met. As security forces prevented them from meeting the governor, they cut the main road in the city.
