Morocco : 280 teachers without salaries for 7 months

Technical education’s teachers expressed their anger for not receiving their dues for seven months in a row.

The union bureau, affiliated to the Democratic Confederation of Labour, affirmed in a media statement, on Monday, that more than 278 teachers, some of whom with 30 years of seniority, suffer from this situation, especially that no solution seems to be coming.

The bureau demands the cancellation of the 30% salary cut imposed on this category of teachers, which salaries are already below the annual salary decided by the law of finances.

It also insisted on the necessity to provide the teachers with the social security, healthcare, tenure and retirement and to deliver them the work certificates and pay slip they have been deprived from lately.

On the medium term, the protesters asked the part-time teachers’ situation to be regularized on the basis of their seniority and to encourage the other contractual teachers who work with Casablanca’s high schools, stressing that these are the reasons behind them protesting in Casablanca and that they are willing to do more actions to denounce their situation.
