The Civil Protection services recovered six bodies on the beach of Bou Mersal, in the district of Sidi Ifri, of irregular migrants who tried to reach the Spanish coasts.
The inhabitants of Sidi Ifni woke up on Tuesday morning to the tragedy of the sinking of a boat carrying 40 persons, men, women and children.
Local media sources said that the civil protection recovered 6 bodies, among which a woman with her child and a young man from Sidi Ifni. The identity of the three others remains unknown.
The civil protection’s agents rescued 18 persons and are still looking for the other missing persons.
On the same day, another boat challenged huge waves in the Takomba region, in the south of Sidi Fini. It was carrying irregular migrants to the Canaries islands.
