The Ministry of Education decided to oblige all the teachers working in the summer sessions to sign a contract for teaching by the second week of the summer sessions; a contract that has to be approved by the Department of Educational Supervision.
It explained that those who work in the summer sessions are not entitled to stop working, if they have already started, and in case of their withdrawal after the signing of the contract, they will be banned from teaching in the summer sessions for the next two years.
Moreover, it explained that in case of the workers’ absence, whether with or without excuse, the earnings of these days will be deducted from their salaries and in case of their absence for a long period they will be automatically dismissed and they will get paid only for the days they worked in.
The Ministry of Education referred to the financial bonus per session by 100 riyals for boys and girls. While the leaders, responsible and supervisors get the equivalent of 24 sessions, including the registration week and the tests.
The teacher in charge of teaching the summer session courses is rewarded for each sessions as long as they don’t teach more than 24 sessions per week. The administrative staff except for the supervisors are paid the equivalent of 16 sessions per week, while the supervisors of secondary education are paid the equivalent of 24 sessions.
