According to Equal Measures organization: Algeria is the first Arab country in the classification of equality between women and men

Mauritania ranked the last of the global ranking of the equality between men and women, which have been recently released by a group of experts and researchers, who used data on women from around the world by the year 2030.

Mauritania was one of the 10 worst-performing countries in terms of gender equality including: Mau-ritania, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Yemen, Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Chad.

In the same context, Algeria ranked first among the Arab countries in terms of gender equality with 66.9%, slightly ahead of Tunisia, which ranked 66%, according to a study by the British NGO "Equal Measures 2030", while Yemen and Mauritania were among the last 10 countries on that list.

Tunisia ranked second in the Arab world and 65 globally, while the global ranks of the other countries are the following: Jordan 85, Lebanon 86, Egypt 87, Morocco 88, Saudi Arabia 92, Iraq 103, and Ro-mania 124, and Yemen 126.

The study examined the status of women comparing to men in 129 countries around the world, ac-cording to 50 criteria.

The study found that the 129 countries surveyed did not succeed in converting their laws, policies or public budget decisions to the required level for gender equality by 2030.
